American Electric Power (AEP) is forging ahead on a project to replace and rebuild 21 miles of transmission lines in our community. The plans include the installation of 85 foot tall metal poles and increasing their right-of-way to 60 feet along these transmission lines. A disruption of this magnitude will affect our environment, community aesthetics, property values, business environment and quality of life. We want AEP to work with us to evaluate alternatives and not mandate these substantial changes. We need strong community support to make that happen.
